Gunnar Parelius (*1951) graduated from NTNU in 1978. From 1978 - 1987 he worked as a practicing architect, research fellow and lecturer. He was the Faculty Director of the Faculty of Architecture and Fine Art from 1989 to 2013 and since 2013 he is the Vice Dean for Education.

Gunnar's field of interest is teaching in architectural design and planning, aesthetic and semiotic aspects and practical administration and governmentality. Since the early 90s Gunnar has represented his faculty in several national and international organizations. Among them The council for Professional Education of Architects and Landscape Architects, Nordic Academy (NAA), the European Association for Architectural Education (EAAE) and The European Network of Heads of Schools of Architecture (ENHSA). He has also been professionally active in a wide range of organizations such as The Nordic Association of Architectural Research.
