Association of Architecture Schools of Australasia (AASA) has provided leadership and advocacy for architecture education in the Australasian region since 1999.

The AASA became an incorporated association on 10 July 2020 and is an International Affiliate Member of the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA).

Mission:

The Association of Architecture Schools of Australasia identifies, develops and supports

  • Quality professional undergraduate and graduate education of architects and related professions;

  • Research, scholarship and creative work in relation to architecture and the designed environment; and

  • Policy, community service and professional activities in relation to architecture education.

New European Bauhaus

The New European Bauhaus initiative connects the European Green Deal to our living spaces. It calls on all Europeans to imagine and build together a sustainable and inclusive future that is beautiful for our eyes, minds, and souls.

The New European Bauhaus will:

  • Bring citizens, experts, businesses, and Institutions together and facilitate conversations about making tomorrow’s living spaces more affordable and accessible.
  • Mobilise designers, architects, engineers, scientists, students, and creative minds across disciplines to reimagine sustainable living in Europe and beyond.
  • Strive to improve the quality of our living experience. It will highlight the value of simplicity, functionality, and circularity of materials without compromising the need for comfort and attractiveness in our daily lives.
  • Provide financial support to innovative ideas and products through ad-hoc calls for proposals and through coordinated programs included in the Multi-Annual Financial Framework.

ACSA is a non-profit association of over 200 member schools. Through these schools, over 5,000 architecture faculty are represented. In addition, over 300 supporting members composed of architecture firms, product associations and individuals add to the breadth of interest and support of ACSA goals.

The association maintains a variety of activities that influence, communicate, and record important issues. Such endeavors include scholarly meetings, workshops, publications, awards and competition programs, support for architectural research, policy development, and liaison with allied organizations.
