General Assembly 2020
Dear Colleagues,
The General Assembly (GA) will be held online on 28 August 2020. Registration is compulsory to ensure we can send you a Zoom access link for the Assembly. Please find all relevant information for the GA here.
It is important for us to foster our tradition of exchanging ideas and getting together as a community. Therefore, prior to the General Assembly there will be an online forum to discuss ‘Ways Forward’ (more information on the website soon). After the GA, there will be a closing lecture by Rolf Hughes and Rachel Armstrong on ‘Navigating an Age of Uncertainty through Architectural Research: Rethinking value in our learning cultures and research environments’. The detailed programme can be found here. Please register for the forum and/or the lecture via the registration form to receive the respective Zoom links.
In addition, we would like to draw your attention to the initial findings of a National Design Studio Survey by the University of Bath onto the impact of COVID‐19 on studio teaching in architectural education in the UK. If you have similar studies to disseminate, please share these with us (e-mail the secretariat). As we have all faced and will face similar challenges, it will be key in the coming months to stay connected and support each other. The GA and events around it, as well as the two events in autumn 2020 will be the platforms for this.
- MILANO CA²RE and CA²RE+ from 28–30 October 2020
- the joint EAAE–ARCC International Conference, which has been postponed from June to 11–14 November 2020 and is planned in a blended format
I wish you a relaxing summer break and look forward to meeting you at the end of August.
Best regards,
Oya Atalay Franck
President, EAAE
