General Assembly 2020
The General Assembly (GA) will be held in an online format on 28 August 2020. Since this year the Annual Conference – our traditional summer get together in person – is not possible, we will meet online to exchange ideas in two sessions prior and after the GA. We will start with a forum with the topic ‘Ways Forward’ (information on the website soon). This will be followed by the GA. Finally, there will be a closing lecture by Rolf Hughes and Rachel Armstrong on ‘Navigating an Age of Uncertainty through Architectural Research: Rethinking value in our learning cultures and research environments’. We would like to especially draw your attention to the agenda item regarding the elections: As the COVID-19 crisis, which also severely affects all EAAE activities, is not yet overcome, and as business everywhere is far from normal, the Council suggests to extend the terms of all council members for one year. It is important to the Council of being able to ensure the smooth functioning of the daily business in these difficult times and the successful completion of the projects that have been started but are invariably delayed due to the restrictions caused by the pandemic. Regular elections would take place in 2021. The Council is convinced, that a postponement would allow for a proper discussion and a fair election process regarding all candidacies for the various posts in the Council. The voting will be based on this proposal. We are very much counting on your support.

Registration for the General Assembly is mandatory, so that we can send you a Zoom access link. If you want to give a mandate to vote to a representative of another member school, please fill in the proxy form. It is possible until 24 August 2020. Only full members who have paid their annual contribution until 30 June 2020 have voting right at the General Assembly. Per member school only one official representative can be registered and participate in the Assembly. Associate members can participate but are not entitled to vote.
New members can register and will be eligible to vote after the approval of their membership in the GA.
Each full member institution can be represented by a proxy holder who has to be the official representative of a full member institution. Each official representative can hold up to four proxies in addition to the vote of his/her own member institution. If you want to give proxy, please fill in the proxy form.
Quorum is established by the participation or representation of one third of the full members at the General Assembly. Decisions are made by simple majority of the full members present or represented.
