DEPARTMENT OF ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN

The Department of Architecture and Design is one of the departments of the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Creative Industries of Barleti University (UniBa). The philosophy of the Department is based on a consolidated and efficient Vision and Mission for the preparation of future generations of contemporary architects, builders and urban planners.

The vision of the Department is based on an analysis of all professional specifics, market requirements and requirements for sustainable development. The results of this analysis guide the mission and vision of the Department through an integrated and multi-disciplinary higher education. The formation of an architect must include professional and technical skills to fully follow the architectural and construction process of an object at each stage. One of the foundations of basic formation is the knowledge of the context in which he projects and where his work is integrated.

The architect, during his formation, is given all the means to read critically and efficiently the reality in which we live. General and specific knowledge of all elements of the urban context, such as cultural-historical heritage, natural, psychological and social environment, etc. that he acquires during his studies help in his formation as an architect to later design sustainable environments.

Barleti University is a non-public institution of higher education, which started its activity in 2005. Barleti University is entirely organized on academic basis referring to the model expressed in the principles expressed in the Bologna Declaration. The Master of Science in Architecture at Barleti University, is an integrated second cycle study program, which aims to prepare architects with in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge to fully follow the process of design and implementation of a building. The academic offer based on the needs of the market and the characteristics of the profession, forms the future architects with in-depth skills in the field of architecture but also of the sectors that are intertwined with it, such as urban development, sustainability of living space, design, and scientific research skills. This program is realized with a normal duration of 5 (five) academic years, with 300 credits, according to the UNIBA curricula.

CREATIVE GARAGE PLATFORM

Creative Garage raises the “cluster” of creative economies by installing in its structure laboratories to promote creative industries, creative people and creative countries and is open to anyone who wants to enter and operate in it. The key element of Creative Garage is the creative people or creative minds that is the mainstay of creative economies.

CREATIVE INDUSTRIES

In Creative Industries, we are dealing with businesses with creativity at their heart – for example design, music, publishing, architecture, film and video, crafts, visual arts, fashion, TV and radio, advertising, literature, computer games and the performing arts.

CREATIVE ECONOMY

Creative Garage is based on the philosophy of Creative Economy, which is a developing concept that deals with the interplay between art, community, economy, and technology in a contemporary world defined by pictures, sounds, texts, and symbols.

CREATIVE SPACE

Physical structures, public environments, and works of art that inspire imagination are also indicators of Creative Spaces. They are some of the community’s most visible and well-known spaces. These spaces are tangible and, above all, accessible, displaying a sense of positivity and entertainment, and allowing the artist and creator to demonstrate his creative and cultural activities while still being responsive to the community.

CREATIVE PEOPLE

Creative people, or creative brains, are a core component of Creative Garage, and they are the mainstay of creative economies. Individual creative talent and the generation of intellectual property are referred to as the main catalysts of development if these economies function properly, particularly in developing countries like Albania.
