‘TOWARDS A NEW EUROPEAN BAUHAUS. Challenges in Design Education & Research’

Dear Colleagues,

Registrations for the Annual Conference and General Assembly both held between 31 August and 2 September 2022, as well as the call for abstracts are still open. The post-conference tours will take place between 3 and 4 September 2022. The conference is thematically dedicated to ‘TOWARDS A NEW EUROPEAN BAUHAUS. Challenges in Design Education & Research’ and will be hosted by ETSAM School of Architecture at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Please note that this year during the General Assembly on 2 September 2022, there will be elections held for six seats on the EAAE council, with three current members up for re-election.

The workshop Educating for Practice took place on 16 June 2022 in Paris. Participants included representatives of ACE (Architects’ Council of Europe), ENACA (European Network of Architects Competent Authorities) and EAAE. It was hosted by the French Conseil National de l’Ordre des Architectes. The workshop was organized in 3 sessions: Education, Access to the Profession and Notification and Recognition of Architects’ Qualifications. The discussions on these topics will continue, a.o. in a work session during the Annual Conference in Madrid.

We are pleased to inform you that a proposal was handed in to the Norwegian representatives in the NESTI group (National Experts on Science and Technology Indicators) for evaluation of the Frascati Manual by the group. The proposal targets the recognition of artistic and architectural research in the Frascati Manual. It has been developed by the consortium which prepared the Vienna Declaration on Artistic Research  and which includes all the major European umbrella organisations connected to higher arts education and artistic research: AEC, CILECT / GEECT, Culture Action Europe, Cumulus, EAAE, ELIA, EPARM, EQ-Arts, MusiQuE, SAR.

Please note that the EAAE survey “SDGs in Architecture: Teaching, Research, University Policies, Organization, Campus Life and Spaces” is also still open for participation, and we kindly ask for your contributions.
