Edinburgh College of Art seeks an exceptional individual to succeed Professor Chris Breward. ECA is thriving, and the next Principal will oversee a period of further significant opportunities, with major estates developments positioning ECA to have some of the finest facilities in the world. Engagement across the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, with the wider University and with partners locally and internationally is strong, and the next Principal will be expected to bring vision and creativity to ensure ECA continues to be recognised as a place of unparalleled opportunity and discovery.

As Principal, you will have evidence of distinction in one or a combination of disciplines in ECA. You will inspire the staff and students, leading outstanding colleagues across different disciplines to a common purpose as well as drawing on the strength and prestige of the exceptional alumni of ECA. The Principal is acknowledged as an academic leader within the structure of the University of Edinburgh and will be eligible for a Chair within the School on appointment.
