Dear Colleagues
We look back on a year of globally starting and ending with very hard challenges of wars, earthquakes, politically radicalization and climate change. Acting with confidence, diligence, and intensity, EAAE remains committed to act together with its members against these hardships and support all creative, innovative and responsible projects to bring solutions to these challenges. In this respect, 2023 has been a very active year; start of new projects, connecting successfully to new peers and members, and becoming part of impactful actions in Europe. We will continue our work in this line in 2024: together, with critical optimism and determination in educating architects as agents of sustainable, beautiful and just futures, and connecting research, education and practice to work in synergies.
Very recently, on 18 December, EAAE became part of the the pan-European NEBA Alliance consortium to launch the New European Bauhaus Academy. The NEB Academy is a flagship initiative of the European Year of Skills, which puts a spotlight on the importance of training and lifelong learning to develop the skills needed, including in the context of the green and digital transitions.
Looking ahead to EAAE's fourth Deans' Summit hosted by the Amsterdam Academy on 25.04 and 26.04.2024, and to EXPERIMANTATION, CA2RE Conference hosted by Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura UPV from 11.04-13.04.2024, and for the EAAE/ARCC Biennial Conference, ARCHITECTURE INTO THE UNKNOWN from 23.05. – 26.05.2024 hosted by Aarhus School of Architecture - days of intensive discussions, exchange of ideas, and insightful presentations are waiting for us.
We will gather from 28.08. - 31.08.2024 for the Annual Conference and General Meeting at the M.S.A. Münster School of Architecture. Please note that the election for the new president and vice-president of EAAE is planned during this meeting. The International VELUX Award for students of architecture 2024 also takes place during our gathering in Münster, which will provide for students participation, and will bring a proud dimension to our meeting. The jury for the Awards is revealed here. Save the dates, we will share more details with you soon.
