We are pleased to announce that registration is open for the Interior Educators Conference 2024.
Conference Details:
Dates: 21st-22nd November 2024
21.11.24: Registration opens 09:30, Welcome and Introduction 10:15.
22.11.24: Conference closes 17:00.
Location: Sutherland Building, Northumbria University, Newcastle, UK
Early Bird
The cut-off for early-bird registration is 6th September 2024 at 23:59hrs (local UK time)
Accommodation Discounts

Keynote Speaker Announcement: Dr. Jane Hall – Assemble
Joining our keynote speakers, Jonathan Tuckey – Tuckey Design Studios and Lionel Devlieger – Rotor, we are delighted to welcome Dr. Jane Hall, a founding member of the Turner Prize-winning collective Assemble, as our next keynote speaker.
Dr. Jane Hall brings a wealth of experience and insight into collaborative design and innovative practice that challenges conventional boundaries. Her research has been widely published, including the books Breaking Ground: Architecture by Women (Phaidon, 2019) and Woman Made (Phaidon, 2021), which examine the work of female designers globally. Jane’s work with Assemble has been instrumental in redefining the relationship between architecture, art, and the community, making her an ideal voice to contribute to our discussions on Creative Practice.
Jonathan Tuckey, the founder of Tuckey Design Studios, is a leading advocate for adaptive reuse and remodelling, with extensive teaching experience under the Fred Scott. His leadership at Tuckey Design Studio is marked by a commitment to transforming old structures into contemporary spaces while preserving their historical significance. With a global portfolio, the studio prioritises human-centred design, with a sustainability lens, their international team creates spaces with enduring cultural and social significance.
Lionel Devlieger, co-founder of Rotor, Brussels, and Associate Professor at Ghent University, is a pioneering voice advocating for reuse and circularity, he integrates theory and practice to challenge norms in construction. Belgian design practice Rotor, known for innovative projects, fosters debate and transforms reclaimed elements into bespoke interiors. Lionel’s influence extends globally through teaching and influential publications, reshaping the discourse on sustainability in the built environment.
