Work in Progress

Dear Colleagues,

Our recent events, MILANO CA²RE and CA²RE+ and the EAAE–ARCC International Conference in Valencia were very successful. The CA²RE event will find its continuation from 24–28 March 2021 under the lead of the Hafencity University Hamburg. The call is available here.

The joint EAAE-ARCC conferences have a two decades tradition and have always been a platform of highly valuable academic exchange and dissemination of knowledge on all aspects of architectural research and education. Many thanks to the School of Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Valencia with Director Ivan Cabrera i Fausto and his team for hosting our event. We look forward to the next joint conference to be held in Miami in Spring 2022.

The next step regarding the European Commission’s New European Bauhaus initiative will be a meeting with the Advisory Board of President Ursula von der Leyen and all signatories of the statement to discuss the Bauhaus initiative. We hope that it will propel new research activities and foster educational programs. EAAE is planning to intensify the collaborations with ACE, the Architects’ Council of Europe, besides the policy making, on further urgent topics such as the influence of COVID-19 and of the increasing digitalization in education and its consequences in the professional field. We believe it is important to join forces with ACE as their perspective is crucial for the development of architectural education and with this to make sure future architects have the right means to master the challenges that lie ahead.

We are currently planning the first EAAE Deans Summit in next spring and will update you on this as soon as possible.

We would like to remind you to share your information on events, publications, etc. in the member section of our website.

I wish you resilience and health.

Best regards
Oya Atalay Franck
President EAAE
