Dear Colleagues,
I hope you are all well. We are going through truly tempestuous times: on one hand, the enforced transformation of our daily business – education and research – at a moment’s notice to digital platforms, and on the other hand the frightening challenges of private daily life. The current situation is characterized by constant uncertainty and grave problems – problems of a magnitude never witnessed before which must be dealt with in the most pragmatic way, often taking one day at a time.
As a community of educators and researchers, we have the mindset and will to tackle these challenges. Since many of the challenges and obstacles we are facing are similar all over the world, and since some of us have already gained first-hand experience, EAAE has decided to gather information which might be practical and helpful for the entire community (soon available at www.eaae.be). By all means, we need to connect and to share ideas and solutions with which we can support each other and our students during this extraordinarily difficult period. Like many other institutions, EAAE had to reschedule the events planned for this year. The council has decided to postpone most of our events to 2021. The general assembly 2020, however, will take place in due time and in an appropriate format, to fulfil the basic requirements of our statutes. We will inform you on this soon. Please check our website regularly.
