Welcome to the EAAE Newsletter. This newsletter is published monthly in order to inform about EAAE’s daily activities, forthcoming and past events, teaching positions and much more.

Here is a brief update regarding upcoming key events and activities:

The EAAE Annual Conference and General Assembly 2018, taking place between 29 August and 1 September 2018 in Porto and hosted by FAUP, is getting closer. Preparations are well under way. The Portuguese experience will enrichen our understanding of local and global issues and practices. VELUX, the globally operating Danish manufacturing company specialized in roof windows and skylights will be supporting the conference activities as main sponsor. VELUX organizes since many years in Europe and globally the International Students’ Award focusing on lighting and daylight but also - in a broader perspective - on sustainability and health, thus relating to the theme of EAAE conference - architectural education´s interaction with society. Registration for the Annual Conference and General Assembly will be launched in the next weeks. Please check the EAAE homepage regularly for further information.

In the General Assembly this year, we will be electing four new Council members. I encourage you to nominate your candidates and to participate numerously in the elections. The information for this will be available in May. After the publication of the Research Charter in 2012, we are excited that the working group of the Education Academy will be presenting the EAAE Education Charter to the General Assembly on Friday, 31 August 2018 .

Even before, between 16 and 19 May 2018, the ARCC/EAAE Biannual Conference will be held in Philadelphia, PA, hosted by Temple University in partnership with Jefferson University and Drexel University. (The conference in 2020 will take place in Valencia and will be hosted by UPV School of Architecture.)

In mid-June parallel to the International Conference of ACSA (14 to 16 June 2018) a workshop from Education Academy is planned. Regarding this more information will be available on the EAAE homepage very soon, including the exact date. The Research Academy will be present and will lead discussion sessions at the next CA2RE Conference.

EAAE’s website, social media and newsletter are also at the disposition of its member schools to inform about activities and open positions. We will be very happy to hear from you!
