Karl Otto Ellefsen is a professor in architecture and Urbanism at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO). He was the head of the school from 2000 – 2014, and head of the Board of OAT – Oslo Architectural Triannual – till 2015. Since 2000 he has been one of the professionals behind the Norwegian National Tourist Routes Project
Karl Otto Ellefsen is an architect practicing in the Urbanism field. He is publishing works on history of urbanism and urban design, urban strategies, architectural theory and architectural critique. Throughout his entire professional life he has been researching Nordic urbanization. Together with his PhD students he has done studies in East-African cities since the 1990s and currently leads research projects on the urbanization of rural China.
